Dear Crafter or Antique Dealer,

We are pleased to have the opportunity to invite you to submit an application for the 5th annual Valley Heritage Festival, September 29, 2007 in downtown Athens, Pennsylvania. The event will be held on Main Street from 10am until 5pm.

The festival offers Trolley rides, Barbershop Quartet, Horse and wagon rides, Crafters, Demonstrating Heritage Crafters, Dealers, Greater Valley Road Rally, Hands on History Area, Children's Historic Trivia Challenge, Costume Contest, Delicious food, Self-guided historic walking Tours, Great fun for everyone!

There is no admission fee and the trolley, entertainment, tours, horse and buggy rides, hands-on history area and parking are all FREE!

Below is a description of crafter and vendor catagories, and the application form contains information on booths available. We look forward to receiving your application. We are excited about this year’s event and hope you will commit to joining us in celebrating “The history of the Valley.”

Crafter and Vendor Catagories -

 

If you are a Heritage Crafter or General Crafter and would like to be a part of the Valley Heritage Festival, please read our guidelines below:

Heritage Crafter* -
The committee defines a Heritage Crafter as a "working craftsman" that demonstrates a craft indicative of times past. If you have a question if you qualify as a heritage crafter, please email the committee. A Heritage Crafter who demonstrates their craft may participate in the festival for free. A Heritage Crafter who would like to participate without demonstrating their craft will be charged $15.00 heritage crafter fee.

General Crafter* -
The committee defines General Crafter as individual/group of people who actively participates in the creation of hand made items for sale. A General Crafter who would like to participate will be charged $20.00 crafter fee.

Antique Dealer -
The committee defines Antique Dealer as individual/group of people who actively participates in finding and selling quality antiques. An Antique Dealer who would like to participate will be charged a $20.00 fee.

All Crafters & Antique Dealers must be 'in residence' from 10am until 5pm. Set up will begin at 7:30am. All vehicles must be removed from the street by 9:30am. All Crafters & Antique Dealers who are interested in participating must apply by filling out the attached application and returning it to the VHF Committee before June 1, 2006. If you would like to dress in period clothing that would be a great addition to thefestival, but it is not required.

*Note - *We aim to have the majority of items at the festival “hand made” although you may supplement your handmade items with limited purchased craft looking items that complement your own things.
